Aimee Patterson – Young Plumber of the Year 2010

Aimee Patterson has been revealed as the winner of the BBC3 talent show Young Plumber of the Year 2010. The show aired for the first time on BBC3 at 10.30pm Tuesday 30th November, with a repeat at 8pm on Thursday 2nd December.

The BBC series Young Talent of the Year, which first ran in 2009, celebrates the unsung heroes of Britain and highlights dedicated young professionals who are devoted to perfecting their craft.

There are five episodes, each of which focuses on finding the brightest talent from a particular profession. It’s the episode dedicated to plumbing that explains Aimee’s involvement because although her primary role at Alpha is in sales, she’s also an accomplished plumber and heating engineer.

Aimee Patterson

23 year old Wiltshire-based Aimee is a Technical Sales Manager and was involved in the heating industry for four years prior to joining Alpha Boilers in March 2009. During this time she qualified as a heating engineer, going on to gain experience installing and maintaining domestic and commercial heating systems.

As well as helping secure a position at Alpha, Aimee’s knowledge and plumbing experience obviously set her up well for her latest starring role.

Show host George Lamb put the contestants through their paces with the help of two industry experts - Charlie Mullins, founder of Pimlico Plumbing and plumbing ace Chris Young.

Aimee was faced with a series of tough challenges as she went head to head with three other finalists for the title of BBC Young Plumber of the Year.

We hope you’ll join us all at Alpha in wishing Aimee many congratulations on her achievement.

First showing of Young Plumber of the Year, BBC3, Tuesday 30th November at 10.30pm, repeated Thursday 2nd December at 8pm. Catch up on BBC iPlayer.
