Young driver leads the way to victory

21 September 2010

Alpha sponsored Elliot Rice has won the UK Easykart Championship following an incredible performance across the eight rounds that have taken place around the country over the last few months.

The competition kicked off back in March at Ellough Park, Suffolk and has progressed throughout the spring and summer, coming to a nail-biting conclusion on 18th and 19th September 2010 at Forest Edge, Hampshire.

At the start of the final race, the fight for the top spot was a four-way tie and Elliot needed a top three position to guarantee an overall win. Determined to take the title, he stayed focused and manoeuvred round the track, finishing in 2nd place and crossing the line ahead of his closest opponents.

The weekend marked a double celebration for Elliot because his karting victory coincided with his 18th birthday!

As the new UK Champion, Elliot automatically qualifies for a place in the World Championship being held in Italy 13th-17th October 2010.
