New faces

12 January 2011

One of our longest-serving sales people, John Binney, is now heading up our team of Technical Sales Managers. He welcomes five new faces to the existing team that have all joined us over the last couple of months.

Meg Seedhouse

Mansfield-based Meg looks after the East Midlands including Derby, Doncaster, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield. She began her career in the heating industry as an apprentice engineer, gaining an NVQ Level 2 Plumbing and Heating qualification, as well as valuable practical experience

More recently, she has worked for Jackson Building Centre, where she has been able to make the most of her technical know-how in a more sales-focused business. Having spent time on both sides of the fence, 21 year old Meg therefore joins Alpha with an impressive inside knowledge of the everyday needs of the heating engineer.

Pete Grimshaw

Located in Salford, Manchester, Pete takes care of the North West of England including Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton, Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Stockport and Wigan.

His introduction to the heating and plumbing industry came courtesy of Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS), with whom he spent a total of 10 years. Progressing from a position as a trade counter sales assistant for a local branch, his final few years with the company were as an area sales representative.

Pete then took up a role as an Area Specification Manager for leading plumbing products manufacturer Pegler Yorkshire, going on to spend six years there.

Always keen to develop his technical knowledge, Pete returned to college last year to successfully complete a part-time Level 2 plumbing course.

Brian McLaren

From his base in Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, Brian looks after an area in Scotland that includes Glasgow, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, plus Carlisle in the North West of England.

Brian entered the world of plumbing at the age of 23 when he took on a distribution role with Heritage Bathrooms. From here, he worked his way up to Operations Manager before deciding to make a career shift into sales in 2005.

Since then, Brian has enjoyed over 5 years on-the-road, continuing to work for Heritage Bathrooms for a further 2 years before taking up a position at Aqualisa.

During his time with two major brand names, he has built up strong working relationships with an impressive number of customers including merchants, contractors and installers.

Stephen Salters

Operating from Burntisland, Fife, Stephen controls an area that includes Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Inverness, Kirkaldy and Perth.

Originally from Northern Ireland, his working life to date has seen him specialise in sales, covering Scotland and the North East of England.  As an Area Sales Manager, Stephen has worked for household soft drinks brand Britvic (five years), and the Bristan Group (four years).

The experience of working for the latter – which is one of the largest bathroom supply companies in the UK – has given Stephen a good working knowledge of the plumbing trade.

Mark Doggett

Mark covers the South East of England including Brighton, Bromley, Canterbury, Croydon, Dartford, Redhill, Tonbridge, plus South East and South West London.

Mark has spent time as a Sales Representative for Holmes Valves and London-based independent merchant, GIFCO, before becoming Assistant Branch Manager of Graham Plumbers' Merchant (Tunbridge Wells).

A switch to Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS) then saw him become Assistant Manager of its Tunbridge Wells branch, before taking charge of PTS Uckfield as Branch Manager in 2002.
