Alpha is proud to be a dedicated supporter of Warriors of Warmth (WOW), a remarkable initiative founded by Nottingham-based heating engineer Jonathon Hallam. WOW brings together a group of generous installers who are passionate about supporting local communities by providing free heating and hot water solutions to charities in need.
Recent projects have included a homeless shelter and food bank in Windsor, where individuals can access showers, meals, a place to sleep, and even receive mentoring on vital skills such as financial management and cooking. The shelter’s old heating system no longer met regulations, so there was an urgent need for a new system to ensure they could continue their invaluable work. WOW stepped in to provide the necessary heating upgrade, which included a new Alpha boiler, ensuring that the facility remains warm and welcoming for those in need.
Other projects were a theatre arts school in Chesterfield, where the team helped provide essential heating to create a comfortable environment for students and performers.
Stonebridge City Farm in Nottingham finally had hot water and heating for the first time in six months after it had to decommission its old boiler. Home to a variety of animals, including cows, goats, pigs, and tortoises, Stonebridge City Farm is free-to-enter and relies on donations to operate. It provides valuable training and educational services in the local community. The boiler failure left the farm without functioning radiators and hot water, creating challenges for staff and affecting the on-site café and some animals, particularly those that rely on hot water during colder weather.
As well as receiving regular help from qualified installers, Jonathon engages with college students. It’s a brilliant way learning opportunity for them, spending a day working hands-on with experienced installers and talking with manufacturer representatives about different products.
Our partnership with Warriors of Warmth aligns with Alpha’s commitment to creating a positive impact beyond business. Together, we are helping to build a warmer, more supportive community for all. It’s a privilege for us to support such a meaningful initiative and contribute to the incredible work being done to improve lives.
