If your heating system turns on during the night or in cold weather even when it’s not scheduled to do so, it’s often because the minimum room temperature has been set too high. The boiler will automatically fire up to maintain that temperature, especially as the ambient temperature drops overnight.
To avoid this, we recommend setting the minimum temperature between 8°C and 12°C.
It is worth also checking whether the programmer or time switch has been accidentally left on.
If the problem persists, contact a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer to investigate further.
