Just like conventional boilers, system boilers are ideal for multi-bathroom properties with high hot water demands but the key difference is that they take up less space.
You will still need a hot water storage cylinder to ensure the hot water is always readily available, but the feed and expansion (usually located in the loft) is replaced by an expansion vessel which will be housed in the boiler, along with the circulation pump and some of the valves. Having more components built into the boiler like this makes them easier to install than conventional boilers.
It’s worth considering that using an unvented hot water cylinder alongside a system boiler can provide good hot water delivery but comes with its own special installation requirements so you should always seek advice from a qualified tradesperson before choosing this option. However, if you have sufficient space and can meet the installation requirements, this could be just the solution for you.
