Alpha helps guide plumbers of tomorrow

11 June 2013

Four new PremierPack Plus jigs are helping students of Weston College to gain realistic experience of installing boilers thanks to Alpha Heating Innovation.

When made aware of the newly-launched plumbing course through the local branch of Plumbase, Darren Rowe, technical sales manager at Alpha, was only too happy to help the group of 14 learners.

The jigs allow the students to put into practice the theory they’ve learned from lecturer Scott Austin, something that he feels makes a vital difference: “By presenting the students with a real-life installation situation, they are much better equipped to understand and work with the realities of being a plumber out on a job. We’ve not run a plumbing course at Weston College for some time but, partly due to demand, we’ve reinstated it and it’s great that this first intake can benefit from the equipment provided by Alpha.”

Darren also recently went back to give a presentation to the group, further cementing Alpha’s relationship with the college. “It would be great if this became a long term partnership as these are the installers of tomorrow and we, as manufacturers, need to support them in any way we can.”
