Last week our National Sales Director, Brendan Fenerty, caught up again with Brian House Children's Hospice to hand over the donation cheque for funds raised over the last few months. This included amounts linked to Alpha sponsored PGA professional and DP World Tour player Jack Senior through the 2022 golf season, as well as staff activities such as an office 'bake-off' competition.
The cheque was received by Janet Atkins from Brian House, who confirms this amount of money could cover the cost of running the whole of Brian House for more than 14 hours, allowing them to provide expert nursing care to children and young people living with very serous and complex conditions while helping them to play and have fun, as all children should. During any 14 hours, there is a focus on creating lasting memories, no matter how short a young life may be.
Alternatively, our donation would allow Brian House's trained nurses to take children and young people, or their siblings, out into the community for fun and memories away from the hospice 36 times! This is a opportunity to enjoy new experiences just as any child in our area can do. For their siblings, who can often feel overshadowed at home by a child who needs constant care, it’s the chance to connect with other people their age living in similar situations, while enjoying time away from home and the pressures that can bring.
Prior to the festive big day in December, Brian House had created a magical Christmas Grotto for the children to visit within the building which was absolutely fantastic. Both Brendan and Jack (who is also a local resident) could only admire the tremendous work and compassion that is provided.
Here at Alpha we are delighted to confirm our commitment to continuing our support of Brian House in 2023, in conjunction with Jack and through various other fundraising efforts and events.
We wish Jack some better luck in this year's season following some niggling injuries that interrupted 2022. For our numerous customers who are keen golfers, keep a look out for some special Alpha opportunities involving Jack Senior later in the year.
