Alpha provides UK-first climate education programme to schools

Here at Alpha we're pleased to announce a new partnership with education provider, Our Classroom Climate, to help roll out the UK’s first climate change education programme to UK primary schools.

The agreement will see schools across Sevenoaks provided with the programme, which supports the national curriculum. The programme which will encourage children to be environmentally conscious, will help them to understand how to improve the air quality in their classroom and even capture carbon!

Eager to support the future generation in understanding the importance of climate change, Alpha’s partnership will see primary schools across the town given learning resources, materials and lessons to help educate on the climate emergency. The programme will give primary school children fun and practical ways to make a positive change to their classroom climate.

Mark Douglas, Founder of Our Classroom Climate, is thrilled to be working with the Alpha team.

“We are delighted to be working with Alpha in the UK. They have shown a real desire to raise awareness of climate change in schools and will be providing each school in Sevenoaks with our OCC education programme. The exciting bit for us is that it will allow the schools to share their learnings, and climate dashboards with other schools. This will allow schools to collaborate and share best practices on climate change, carbon capture, and more importantly create a network of climate-friendly schools”.

Douglas Continues, “We are hugely grateful to the scientists and educators that have worked tirelessly to help us create this unique offering to schools and corporations.”

Commenting on working with Our Classroom Climate, Andrea Carmeli, Managing Director for Alpha says, “We are proud to announce our partnership with OCC, which illustrates Alpha’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions whilst demonstrating our dedication to help educate the next generation - we all have a part to play when it comes to living a more environmentally conscious lifestyle. Education will play a key part in helping us all to understand the need to reduce carbon emissions.

“Our work with OCC supports our mission to promote renewable technologies, which support the environment, air quality and play a major part in our long-term health.”

This partnership will be celebrated with a launch event held at our Kent head office in the coming weeks.
