Alpha Helps Inspire The Next Generation!

Having set up and run successful plumbing and heating business for over 15 years, Mr Plumber Kent, Mark Ongley has seen first-hand that the need for good quality training in the area.  And after setting up Mr Plumber Training Centre, he approached Alpha Heating Innovation for support.

The new centre offers gas assessments and training towards qualifications such as NVQs through both hands-on and classroom teaching. Typically, students enrolled on courses are either re-training for a career change or are just starting out in the industry. However, Mark believes that training should be a continuous process, so refresher courses and advanced training sessions are also available.

Alpha has provided boilers and boiler parts for the hands-on element of the training. Richard Eldridge, Alpha’s Technical Sales Manager for Kent, said, “We have provided a range of boilers so that the students become comfortable working with a variety of models. By giving them the opportunity to become experienced in our technology, we are ensuring a high standard of service later down the line.”

Mark Ongley, CEO & Director of Mr Plumber Training Centre, said, “I’ve worked with Alpha a lot over the years. I’ve been impressed with the aftercare service Alpha provides, so I knew working together for the training centre would be a positive experience. The support Alpha has given us has been great and it’s really useful for the students to work with boilers they’ll be fitting for themselves one day. ”

On graduating from Mr Plumber training centre, students are encouraged to attend Alpha's own Academy. There, the courses cover the products in more detail, alongside training on wider issues such as changes in building regulations.
