Although most of us are fortunate enough to afford to stay warm and well during winter, there are many who are far less fortunate.
There are approximately 25,000 excess deaths every winter in England. There is convincing evidence that a proportion of these deaths are due to exposure to dangerously low temperatures and the associated risk of winter related illnesses, such as bronchitis.
