Alpha appoints renewable product manager for Scotland

27 February 2024

As the UK nears ever closer to its 2050 net zero targets, Alpha has strengthened its team with the appointment of Kenny Henderson as renewable product manager for Scotland.

Kenny will take the lead on developing the business’ presence in Scotland, and supporting customers on their own individual decarbonisation journeys, through encouraging the uptake of both heat pumps and hybrid heating systems. He will also work to upskill local installers to meet the increasing demand for renewable energy.

Beginning his career in the late ‘90s as an apprentice gas engineer, Kenny moved into the renewables space 12 years ago and brings with him a vast knowledge of both aspects of the heating industry – having still maintained his Gas Safe accreditation. He joins Alpha from Gibson & Goold in Ayrshire where he was an operations manager in charge of 40 renewable engineers.

With a wealth of great contacts and deep understanding on design aspect and fault finding, as well as installing, Kenny will play a key role in putting the Alpha brand in front of Scottish homeowners and installers and showcasing the very best of its product range.

Commenting on his appointment, Kenny said: “My journey into the world of renewables was a bit accidental at first, having fallen into a role following a redundancy when I was a gas engineer. Fascinated immediately by the new technology that lay ahead and seeing how I could be part of the future of the heating industry has meant I’ve truly never looked back.

“I am delighted to have now taken another step in my renewables career, and starting this position with Alpha who are leading the charge on the uptake of heat pumps and hybrid solutions. I’m looking forward to the challenge of supporting the company’s growth in Scotland and working with the team to mirror the great work they’re already doing across the UK.”

Andrea Carmeli, Managing Director for Alpha, commented: “We’re so pleased to have Kenny join the team. The incredible technical know-how and experience he brings with him will be crucial to showcasing our products to consumers, as well as making great ties with local Scottish installers to encourage them to upskill ahead of their competitors. We look forward to working with Kenny in this next stage of his career and seeing everything he can bring to Alpha.”
