Alpha employee debuts on BBC’s young talent of the year

6 September 2010

The spotlight is on one particular Alpha employee as she’s about to make her debut as a contestant in a television show to find the best of Britain’s current crop of young talent.

Aimee Patterson, who is a Technical Sales Manager at Alpha, has entered the BBC series Young Talent of the Year 2010. The show, which first ran in 2009, celebrates the unsung heroes of Britain and highlights talented and dedicated young professionals who are devoted to perfecting their craft.

There are five episodes, each of which focuses on finding the brightest talent from a particular profession. It’s the episode dedicated to plumbing that explains Aimee’s involvement because although her primary role at Alpha is in sales, she’s also an accomplished plumber and heating engineer.

23 year old Wiltshire-based Aimee was involved in the heating industry for four years prior to joining Alpha in March 2009. During this time she qualified as a heating engineer, going on to gain experience installing and maintaining domestic and commercial heating systems. As well as helping secure a position at Alpha, this has obviously set her up well for her latest starring role.

Facing Aimee will be a series of tough challenges as show host George Lamb puts contestants through their paces with the help of two industry experts in a national auditions process.

We hope you’ll join us all at Alpha in wishing Aimee the very best of luck.
