Alpha delivers reliable heating for Thorpeness Golf Club & Hotel with a number of boilers installed to create a bespoke and efficient new heating system.
Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel, regarded as one of the UK’s finest coastal golfing destinations, offers guests breath-taking views, top-tier hospitality, and a premier location just minutes from Britain’s eastern shoreline. Nestled in the scenic village of Thorpeness, two minutes north of Aldeburgh, the venue combines a classic hotel experience with a championship golf course, attracting both loyal members and new visitors year-round.
Recently, the hotel and clubhouse required a complete boiler replacement to maintain the high standards expected by its clientele. With over 20 rooms and multiple guest facilities depending on reliable heating and hot water, Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel turned to Alpha to provide an efficient, high-performing solution.
To deliver the installation, the club partnered with trusted local contractors Green Future Energy, based in Saxmundham, Suffolk. The Green Future team had already established a strong working relationship with Steve Farrow, Area Sales Manager at Alpha, and were eager to implement Alpha’s solutions in this prestigious setting.
After careful assessment, it was decided that five Alpha FlowSmart systems would be installed to supply hot water and heating across the hotel rooms and guest bathrooms. In addition, a ProTec 90 commercial system boiler, ideal for larger premises, was installed to serve the main clubhouse. An E-Tec 20S system boiler was also fitted to work alongside two vented cylinders, ensuring consistent and efficient delivery of heating and hot water.
David Fordham, an engineer at Green Future Energy, praised the performance of the Alpha products and the ease of installation: “The performance and pressure are fantastic, and we encountered no issues during the installation.
