INTELLIGENT NEW BOILER RANGE GETS STRAIGHT AS

16 May 2011

Designed to achieve an A rating under the new European Energy Related Products guidelines coming in to force soon, the new InTec boiler range from Alpha Heating Innovation offers installers flexible and intelligent solutions.

The staggered launch of the series across the next few months sees the X range – the InTec 24X and the 28X combination boilers – being launched early June. The entry-level boilers offer heightened compatibility for installers and improved functionality for end users.

For example, case design, dimensions and pipe positions are identical to other Alpha boilers – ideal for replacement situations. Plus, they can be fitted with the PremierPack wall-mounting jig, adding a further two years parts and labour cover to the standard boiler guarantee.

The InTec range also brings with it a new control panel that features an LCD screen with detailed heating and hot water information, including actual temperatures and set temperatures. The display can also be used during commissioning of the boiler whilst detailed fault codes enable any problems to be more easily identified and rectified.

As further incentive for installers, thanks to a PCB capable for accepting an optional relay board, the full InTec range is able to accept various system upgrades at any time. Installers can choose to fit an external weather probe and a modulating remote control or a second circulating pump can be utilised to increase power or allow the dedicated use of a pump for domestic hot water and central heating.

In fact, the whole InTec boiler range has been designed to make life easier for the installer. There are fewer connections and joints in the Grundfos pump and hydroblock, whilst low voltage components and a built-in transformer on the PCB means there’s no need for a large separate transformer – reducing overall boiler weights. The boilers also feature a front mounted expansion vessel valve, one-piece diverter valve, which is easy to replace, push and turn, and thanks to a clip-on temperature sensor there is no need to isolate the water supply.

Steve Hopkins, Product Marketing Manager at Alpha said: “Pushing technology has always been at the forefront of Alpha’s research and development. The new InTec range that will shortly be coming to market showcases this innovation at its best.”
